Top Gun’ at Essendon!

An experience like no other ...... take an adventure flight in our jet fighter trainer, the TS-11 ‘Iskra’.

If you wish is to just experience the sensations of military jet flying without the attendant 'G' forces, we'll of course do just that.

Taxi, takeoff from Essendon to Westgate bridge, then to the Bellarine peninsula; climb to 7,500’, dive to 700 kph, maximum rate combat steep turns, loops and rolls, back to the CBD, then return to Essendon. Maximum speed 700 kph/altitude 7,500’/ ‘G’ loading 5.

We reckon this is about as far as you can go into the world of jet flying without signing up for the RAAF.

This jet is an advanced trainer, with flight characteristics closely modelled on front line combat aircraft, and is still in service in several air forces around the world as a tactical and weapons trainer.

Our aircraft still has its 20MM cannon and gyro gunsight installed, with the gun disabled of course…we think…

The cockpit layout is similar to most two place tactical and fighter aircraft, with pilot and navigator seated in tandem rather than side by side as in other trainer aircraft.

You can experience the wonderful world of the fast jet pilot from our base at Essendon. It is intense, the level of which is your choice.

Pushing the envelope...a typical fighter jet mission:

Over the course of approximately two hours, we discuss your specific wishes, (The flight can be as serene or intense as you decide.) brief you on the nature of the flight parameters, guide you through the various statutory requirements, fly the mission, and debrief. It involves about forty minutes in the aeroplane, with twenty five minutes airborne.


We don’t recommend it to first time flyers, and suggest you try something a little less strenuous first. (Our Harvard is a good start!)
